Common Vibrations (Spain-Peru) is an artistic tangible-audio-visual installation that makes visible the important cultural heritage shared by two countries, Spain and Peru, through a percussion instrument: the cajón.The cajón, originally from Peru, is part of the Afro-Peruvian music tradition. Its use has been documented in the traditions of this community since the mid-19th century. It was the guitarist Paco de Lucía who introduced the instrument in Spain after discover it on a visit to Lima in 1977. This is how the cajón was incorporated into flamenco music.The Spain-Perú pavilion is a collaborative installation based on an instrument that, accompanied by an audiovisual piece, will invite the visitor to discover the common vibration that unites Spain and Peru by playing the cajón.
