About the Dymaxion map
The map used in this game is an invention of the American architect, writer and futurist Buckminster Fuller who published it in 1943. The Dymaxion map does not have a 'right way up'. Fuller attributed the formatting of most other world maps (north-up-superior/south-down-inferior) to cultural bias. Fuller used the 70ft by 35 ft Dymaxion map as a game board for his World Game - a collaborative simulation game where players attempt to solve world problems.
